Mettler Toledo offers the new Excellence Dynamic Mechanical Analyser DMA 1. This analyser offers six deformation modes to accurately gauge material performance. It can handle multiple dynamic and static measurements to characterise viscoelasticity, glass transition, softening, crystallisation and phase transformation. It is ideal for labs that handle different types of materials under tight budget and time constraints.
Ease-of-use has been considered in every aspect of the DMA 1 to ensure it delivers on its promise of flexibility. Researchers can set the sample arm and analysis head at multiple angles. Adjustment of the sample arm without having to calibrate in between configurations, means that samples of different shapes and sizes can be processed in quick succession. Rapid cooling to -190 ̊C with minimal liquid nitrogen consumption also helps improve sample throughput, reduce costs, and improve operator safety.
The DMA 1 is a linear variable differential transformer which measures changes in length over a measurement range of ±1mm with a mean resolution of 2nm. This resolution improves the accuracy of time lag shift measurement to help manufacturers determine how a material will behave in its manufactured context. It also has a humidity chamber/generator and a circulating heat bath to allow measurements under optimum conditions in every mode.
